To kick off our gender unit in Social Justice 12, Dr. Stephanie Han introduced the class to "Body Politics". A lively discussion around stereotypes, body positivity, affirmative consent vs. sexual coercion ensued. Students were challenged to think . . . really think, about how they have been socialized on these key concepts and completed the workshop with a writing prompt from Dr. Han. The writing pieces from the students were raw and beautiful, demonstrating an authentic connection to the workshop and the big ideas in the course. The workshop blended wonderfully with the course curriculum. Highly recommend to anyone.
